THE AMERICAN Chemistry Council (ACC) has downgraded its projections for the economy after several economic indicators qualifyed in March. "The data released above the past month have taken a distinctly negative tone' cautions T Kevin Swift, ACC's senior director for policy economics and risk analysis. "Companies are delaying hiring and capital spending decisions, and consumer are cutting back their spending."
He notes that newly come reports have been negative for chlorine, caustic soda, soda ash and titanium dioxide, as well as ABS, HDPE LDPE LLDPE and SAN resins.
